What Leading Out support and services have you enjoyed, or have assisted you, the most?
Leading Out provided me with a job and apartment before I even got here. It was so nice to have everything figured out before I left Canada. Furthermore, they gave me a lot of support and replied to the countless emails I sent filled with questions to make sure I was infact doing the right thing. They gave me a sense of security and got me excited for the adventure!
I am so happy I chose to come to Australia to teach. It has certainly been an experience that is helping me grow as a teacher and a person! Leading Out helped with the transition and continues to be there for support!
What have you enjoyed most about teaching in Victoria?
I find teaching in Victoria quite different than teaching in Canada. Each school seems to have their own curriculum and it is not as strictly followed as it is at home. From what I have heard the students aren’t as well behaved as they are at home but that is different if you work at a private school in the city.
The best place travelled within Australia:
I have only been here a few month but over the school holidays I travelled the Great Ocean Road and it was amazing! For Christmas I am off to Cairns and further into the new year New Zealand and Figi hopefully!
